
The General Safety Requirements for Outdoor Fitness Equipment (GB 19272-2011) was issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the Standardization Management Committee, and came into effect on October 1, 2011. This standard is a new mandatory standard that regulates the technical requirements, testing methods, labeling, packaging, storage, and management maintenance of outdoor fitness equipment. It was revised over a period of more than a year based on the "General Safety Requirements for Outdoor Fitness Equipment" (GB 19272-2003). The preparation of the new national standard is led by the Group Department of the General Administration of Sport, with participating units including the Sports Equipment and Equipment Center, Beijing National Sports Century Sports Goods Quality Certification Center, Beijing Sports Bureau Group Office, Tianjin Sports Bureau Group Office, Sports Goods Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and 10 fitness equipment manufacturers. The new national standard was developed with reference to relevant standards from Japan, the United States, Europe, and other countries. Its technical content has reached the international level, and it is an important basis for guiding enterprises in designing and producing fitness equipment. It is also an important basis for product quality supervision and inspection, product certification, and outdoor fitness equipment bidding and procurement work.
